It is with regret that I won’t be making it to Tory Conference this year. I have still yet to go to a conference and was long hoping that this year would be my first. Alas due to workloads at the moment, I simply won’t be able to make it. Plus there’s something I’ll be needing to stay in London for, more on that nearer the time.
I was trying to avoid looking through events calendars as it will only leave me disappointed, but being part of various mailing lists and Facebook groups mean I’ve seen them anyway.
As usual the Freedom Association‘s lineup looks particularly good.
Of particular interest, ‘We Need to Talk about Europe’ with Matthew Elliott, Douglas Carswell, Patrick O’Flynn, Tim Montgomerie and Priti Patel.
‘Civil Liberties Up in Smoke’ with Mark Littlewood, Peter Hitchens, Dan Hamilton and Simon Clark (the Director of the brilliant FOREST group, who I’ve blogged about before).
And what I imagine will be a very good discussion on ‘How the Conservatives Can Win The Next Election’ with Janet Daley, Nick Boles, Stephen Shakespeare, Tim Montgomerie and Priti Patel.
Full lineup here. The Freedom Zone website here.
Freedom lovers should also pop on down to the two ASI events being held, particularly the ‘Individual vs The State’ with Philip Davies, Dan Hamilton, Alex Massie and the author of Velvet Glove, Iron Fist: Chris Snowdon.
Oh well, at least I will be at the Conservative Future Pre-Conference Drinks, even if I’m not going to the conference itself.
